  • Measurements

each stripe takes up a twelfth of the height, and the gap that separates them is of the same thickness.

Fun facts

  1. Two stripes and nothing more

The flag of Barberà de la Conca is two white stripes on blue. There is no figure at all. It is one of the simplest municipal flags ever approved, which is why its blazon fits in a paragraph.

  2. The gap is as thick as the stripes

The two stripes measure a twelfth of the height each, and the blue space separating them is the same. That symmetry from one to three is what makes the design look finished rather than like an abandoned line.

  3. Horizontal stripes in the centre

The two bands sit in the centre of the field, not at the top or the bottom. With stripes of the same height, the central position is what balances the whole and leaves the blue in equal measure on all four sides.
